Wayne County Taxation FYI
The fundamental purpose of taxation is to be the mechanism through which the citizens of Wayne County fund public services such as law enforcement, rural fire protection, emergency response services, publicly operated hospitals, road construction and maintenance, public schools, garbage collection and many more entities that address quality of life issues for every resident. Public services receive the bulk of their operating funds through taxation, licensing and registration as well as fines and other government assessment fees.
